Hey! My name’s Zoe; I’m a 20-year-old gal from Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia who loves to travel, read while drinking green tea and black coffee, write, eat good food, and manage social media accounts.

Zoe, a 20-year-old with brown hair is sitting at a table with a margarita in her hand.

Ever since being quarantined back in oh-who-knows-when, I’ve been itching to travel more. Whether it’s a road trip, camping, staying in a hotel, or just a day trip, travelling is one of my favourite things to do. If you’re here, you can probably agree with me!

Since travel has been restricted for the last year and a half, I’ve gotten the opportunity to travel locally and it has been amazing! Some of my favourite places on Vancouver Island to travel to are Qualicum Beach/Parksville, Comox, and Salt Spring Island (not on VI, but close enough).

When international travel was more of a thing, my all-time favourite places I’ve been fortunate enough to visit are Hawaii (my DREAM spot), Oceanside, CA, and Palm Springs.

One reason I’ve been able to travel so much in the last year is not only because school was online (I actually just switched my major from a 4 year English program at the University of Victoria to a 2 year business diploma at Camosun College) but because I work as a freelance social media manager, content creator, and copywriter. That means, my work is entirely remote, which is awesome!

This past year, I’ve worked while watching the sunrise in a cottage on Salt Spring Island, while sitting in cozy Airbnb right by Rathtrevor Park in Parksville, and while overlooking downtown Vancouver from my hotel room.

However, now that I’m heading back to full-time school in person (and freelancing on the side. Check out my freelancing website!), I’ve got to juggle my time and money in order to do all the travelling I want to in the next year. (Check out my blog post where I share my 2021-2022 travel bucket list!) But it’s possible!

That’s what I want to explore on my blog: How to travel as a student, or just a busy person, who is on a budget without feeling overwhelmed. And all while still having the best time possible! I want to share my adventures and give you recommendations in case you decide to travel there too.

When I’m not travelling, I’m reading young adult fantasy and thriller novels, and writing them too! Since 2018, I’ve been writing away about an Aztec-inspired fantasy novel that hopefully one day soon, I can finally finish. I actually have an entire blog devoted to writing and books if you’re interested. I started it wayyy back in 2015. It’s called mylifewithbooksblog.com. It’s another platform for me to share one of my many passions!

Anyways, enough talking about me! Where do you love to travel? What are your travel plans this coming year? I’d love to know 😁
